HOMELESSNESS PREVENTION & RAPID
REHOUSING PROGRAM (HPRP) FUNDS

 


The City of Newport News anticipates receiving $659,087 in Homelessness Prevention   and Rapid Re-­Housing Program (HPRP) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Accordingly, the Newport News Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NNRHA) is soliciting proposals for HPRP service providers to be submitted within the timeframes indicated below.

Please note that to date, HUD approval of the City’s HPRP submission has not been received.  Therefore, awards following review of subgrantee applications will be subject to HUD approval of the City’s HPRP funding request.

HPRP activities include the provision of financial assistance and housing relocation services and stabilization services to either prevent at-risk individuals and families from becoming homeless or help those who are experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed and stabilized. Examples of the manner in which funds can be utilized are as follows:
