- HVAC Maintenance Department
The Work Control Section assists residents, staff and other agencies by phone, radio or in person for work requests. This office can be reached at: 757-247-0484 / 0485 (24-hours per day and holidays), and is located at 618 18th Street, Newport News, VA.
The Uniform Physical Conditions Standards (UPCS) Section does annual inspections of each public housing residence. Advance notice is given to each residents before the inspection. Their job is to prepare work write-ups for repairs on items found that do not meet the minimum UPCS standards. They also repair some items and coordinate additional work when needed.
The HVAC Maintenance section maintains the large heating, hot water and air conditioner systems at Pinecroft Building for Elderly, Ashe Manor, and Spratley House. The staff also maintains a large number of office buildings and provides technical assistance to various public housing communities.
